Bamboo Shield Clamp Instructions

Join Bamboo Shield lengths with at least 12 in of overlap and the stainless connecting kit. Tape is not a seal.

What you'll need

Use the stainless connecting kit and its supplied hardware. You will also need a drill and a wrench. Follow the instructions supplied with your kit for the correct bit and hardware. Work carefully around power tools.

  1. Overlapping the barrier ends

    Overlap the ends

    Overlap ends at least 12 in and clamp them with the stainless connecting kit. Keep the material flat and even.

  2. Aligning the clamps on the barrier

    Align the clamps

    Set a clamp strip on each side of the overlap and get them straight and square. Good alignment is what gives the clamp its full holding strength.

  3. Drilling through the barrier and clamps

    Drill through

    Position the drill over the pre-cut holes and drill straight through: the near clamp strip, both layers of barrier, and the strip on the far side. Take real care while drilling.

  4. Securing the screws and nuts

    Secure each hole

    Fasten the first hole with a provided screw and nut, then drill and secure the next, and repeat down the seam. It goes faster if you fasten each before drilling the next.

  5. The finished clamped seam

    You're done

    Check that the supplied hardware is fastened along the clamp strips and that the overlap is at least 12 in. Follow the instructions supplied with your kit; tape is not a seal.
