Meet the Lewis Bamboo family
Roger Sr. and Gayle Lewis founded this company out of their love for bamboo, taking the rare pleasure of building a business from a lifelong passion.
“Much has happened over the years, and we have proudly passed our love of bamboo to our one and only child. Now the time has come for us to step back from the labor-intensive nursery business. Our company grew from simple, honest principles, and as time passed we found the importance of simplicity and faith. We now enjoy our lovely granddaughter, Harper, and the fruits of our many years of hard work.”
Roger Jr. is the current CEO of Lewis Bamboo. He earned a BS in management from the University of Alabama, graduating with honors, and in 2000 left the corporate grind to help with the growing family business. In 2003, Lewis Bamboo incorporated under his direction, allowing Gayle and Roger Sr. to begin easing into retirement. We are still run as a family-oriented business — spouses work alongside friends, and the next generation eagerly learns the tricks of the bamboo trade. Along with being a wonderful wife and mother, Rachel makes sure every customer is happy and satisfied with our service. When you contact Lewis Bamboo, more often than not you will speak directly with her — having her on the front line lets us resolve any problem swiftly. She joined full time in 2006, and her knowledge of bamboo is a great asset for customers needing phone consultations.
Originally from England, Daniel brings a broad range of technical expertise that is crucial to the digital world our business operates in. He has helped fuel our growth across digital marketing, internal production systems, and customer fulfillment.
After years running retail locations, production facilities, and garden centers, we were lucky to bring Denny aboard in 2007. He was no stranger — Denny and Roger grew up together and have been great friends ever since. We are fortunate to hire friends, and luckier still that they bring the expertise our company needs.
