Pleioblastus Viridistriatus 'Dwarf Green Stripe' is a cold hardy dwarf ornamental bamboo that grows to a maximum of three feet.
New foliage in the Spring is a golden/yellow with green stripes. Foliage can get up to 7 inches in length. Then in the Summer, it starts to turn green with dark green stripes that start fading also. The leaves tend to curl in full sun, so semi-shade locations are preferred.
We mow this down in the winter because it tends to start looking rather ragged. By doing this, it seems to make it come back thicker the next Spring.
