'Tanakae'
This
beautiful bamboo has canes that are marked with elliptical purplish and
brown spots. The wood is like other bambusoides and is rock hard.
The
canes are excellent for wood crafts and and flute making.

A
rare collector's bamboo with beautiful cane coloration on maturing
culms.
It takes some time for this bamboo to size up and begin showing these
beautiful
markings, but it is well worth the wait.

Below right photo shows the wide range of coloration
occurring within a grove of this beautiful bamboo. Some
canes will have many to almost solid coloration while
some have less scattered spotting.
