'Shiroshima'



 
 

This species grow to a height of 16 feet and has very beautiful leaves variegated in cream and green.  It's foliage withstands cold and dryness well. 

 
 

The colors persist throughout the year. This bamboo has a minimum temperature of 0 degrees F.

 
 

Because the 'Shiroshima' perfers shade, we have some growing in a grove of the P. viridis, seen behind the leaves above. It makes a very nice contrast with the giant bamboos.
 
 
 
This species is stunning as an isolated clump of bamboo or grown as a
hedge.
