This is a knock out ground cover. Our
groves stay around three to four
feet in height and never need mowing. Many ground covers become raggy
looking after a hot summer and mowing them to the ground once
during the Fall in our annual routine. This one never needs to be mowed at the
thick green foliage never looks bad even during our hot and dry summer months.

These large dark green leaves are just beautiful and hold up very well during the Winter months. We have found this species prefers the shaded sites that get filtered sun light. It handles several hours of direct light, but shaded sites like the one you see above with average size trees seem to work best.
