     This  ground cover is one of the most variegated bamboo  we grow. Many of its leaves are pure white. It holds its varigation through out our hot summer months. This ground cover has been very slow to spread.

     A highly desirable variegated ground cover. During the Spring, the new dark green leaves with white stripes are just beautiful. This is a very cold hardy ground cover.      This uncommon bamboo has long, narrow, grass like leaves and is a vigorous runner. Originated in Taiwan this species will do fine in shaded woodland sites  Has very straight leaves and the oral setae are absent from the culm (cane) sheaths.

     A very small bamboo used for ground covers and container plantings. Our groves are mowed to the ground during the Fall months for a fresh growth of foliage each Spring. Great little bamboo for erosion or areas where you want green foliage that doesn't have to be mowed all summer. Mow it once in the Fall and the next year it will grow back providing a 6 inch to 2 foot height ground cover.

    Very rare species similar to the  P. pygmaeus typical form, but much larger in height reach 6 feet or taller.  Much more cold hardy and very rare. 

Less than 10 growers nation wide even have this species.  A one gallon container went for over $300 five years ago at the National ABS meeting.

     This very rare bamboo grows like the typical form of simonii, but has a very unusual leaf coloration. Some of the leaves are variegated with a white stripe and some are solid green. This characteristic can often be seen on the same branch with some variegated and some not. This species is not wide spread and is sought by many bamboo enthusiast.
